GUILIN HIGHLIGHTS

Situated on the west bank of the Li River and borders Hunan Province to the north, Guilin has long been renowned for its amazing landscapes of karst topography as one of China’s most popular tourist destinations.

Guilin is also a well-known historical and cultural city in China with a long history of more than 2100 years, which has left Guilin with a rich collection of historic and cultural sites, most of which have been placed under municipal protection.

Its name literally means "Forest of Sweet Osmanthus", owing to the large number of fragrant sweet osmanthus trees located in the city.
