Celebrated on the third day of the third month of Chinese lunar calendar every year, the SanYueSan Festival, also called Double Third Festival falls, is held in every March or April during the spring time. The festival is as important as the Chinese New Year for many ethnic groups in Guangxi Province of China (Guilin is in Guangxi) like Zhuang, Miao, Yao, and Dong etc. And it’s the most important ethnic holiday for Guangxi people. For Zhuang people, it is also the Singing Festival, during which people will get together, sing in antiphonal style, throw embroidered balls and join in other interesting activities.
